Selena Gomez literally quit the internet like it’s a bad habit. No more tweets, Facebook, MySpace, internet news, instant messenger — she won’t use any of it. In this day and age, that’s almost like becoming Amish.

She was quoted as saying, “I’ve given up the internet. I don’t read comments, and I don’t go on any of the sites anymore, and I just feel better. And it’s not about being a celebrity – you get on MySpace, Facebook, there’s all these different outlets where people can just feel like nobody’s watching them so they can just say whatever they want to say, and that gets dangerous sometimes.”

One can see how the internet is a dangerous place with plenty of criticism. However, the internet can also be used as a tool for free thinking and unbiased information. Any technological tool can be used for good or evil.
