Comedian Russell Brand has a very special birthday present to look forward to from his fiancée singer Katy Perry  – a trip to outer space.

Perry has bought her husband-to-be a Virgin Galatic space venture for his 35th birthday, according to reports.

Virgin Galactic spokesperson Louella Faria told E! Online: “It is true. “We are very excited to have him [Brand] onboard.”

And the Californian Gurl singer has spared no expense, shelling out a reported $200,000 for Brand’s seat on the Virgin spaceship’s maiden voyage. The Get Him To The Greek star and his fellow passengers will jet more than 365,000 feet into the Earth’s atmosphere.

Brand will have to undertake two or three days of special astronaut training before his blast-off. Luckily, there is no rush as the spacecraft is still in its testing stages, according to reports.

Perry, 25, hasn’t bought a ticket for herself yet, but she has reportedly been invited to wait for her fiancé’s return at Virgin Galactic’s New Mexico spaceport.
