Michael Douglas Icon Award
Michael Douglas is going to receive an honor for his contributions to the world of cinema. The actor, who has turned 66 now, discovered that he had throat cancer recently.
Douglas will receive the Icon award on 13 January 2011, at Palm Springs International Film Festival which is located in California.
“Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps performance,” a creation by Douglas has made him nominated for a Golden Globe award too. Golden Globe is given to a person who creates something that represents greatest contribution in the motion picture art form’.
Darryl MacDonald, Festival director stated that they were very excited to honor Michael Douglas for taking a pioneer effort to bring the actor into limelight and recognize his contributions which deserved more celebration.
