It seems now Jessica Simpson will start designing wedding rings.

I suppose you could call her recent state of affairs relatively tough: a flopped country album, a dog snatched by a coyote, and a break-up on the eve of her birthday. Heck, she even earned a mention or two in the Tiger Woods scandal—for meritless claims, of course.

All of this must have people wondering what the future may have in store for her. Never fear, this deep thinker has got an idea or two. The most recent one to make the news is her ambition to join forces with a jeweler named Pascal Mouawad. She apparently has a desire to design jewelry. Not just the typical bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. No, she wants to make wedding rings.

Sure, sure, I know what you’re thinking. Who would buy a wedding ring from the girl whose show ‘Newlyweds’ actually pioneered the ‘reality show curse,’ whereby real couples split after allowing cameras into their households?

I share the same sentiment, and apparently so does Mouawad. A source close to the situation told Fox News:

“Pascal isn’t so keen on that…He wants to work with her, but definitely doesn’t think wedding rings would be appropriate for Jessica.”

It’s unclear whether or not he thinks her divorce from Nick Lachey would make the venture not ‘appropriate,’ but I think I hear the guy knocking. Besides, aren’t wedding rings pretty simple for the most part? Some people get diamonds encrusted in them and so forth, but your typical wedding band is pretty straightforward.
