First Wives of Hollywood

It’s hard to stay current with the relationships in Hollywood and even tougher to keep up with whose married and who’s divorced. Once you have worked out the whole ‘are they, or aren’t they dating’ thing they will probably have been married and had a ‘celebrity divorce’ already. When the dust settle though, and we look back, it is interesting to see who the first wives of Hollywood actually are.

In an exclusive club such as this, it must be difficult to always be known as ‘the first wife of…’, however some of these ladies have made a name for themselves. Think Madonna, who was the first wife of Sean Penn, or Julia Roberts who was the first wife of Lyle Lovett. What about some of the lesser know first wives of Hollywood though?

Donna Peele

The first wife of Charlie Sheen is probably feeling quite happy that their marriage did not last more than 4 months and 24 days.

Donna Peele and Charlie Sheen were married in 1995, the pair met on the set of a cigarette commercial. Charlie Sheen compared Donna Peele to “a bad car,” saying, “If it breaks down, what are you gonna do?”

I wonder what she thinks of the Charlie Sheen goddesses?!

Sheree Zampino

Ok, see if you can keep up here. Sheree Zampino is the first wife of Actor Will Smith and together they have a son called Willard Christopher “Trey” Smith III.

They met in 1991 at a taping of the “A Different World” show. Sheree and Will were married on May 9, 1992, when Will was 24 and Sheree was 25 years old. They divorced in December, 1995. Sheree Zampino then married Terrell Fletcher, and Will Smith is now married to Jada Pinkett Smith, with whom he has children Willow and Jaden Smith.

Talia Balsam

Talia Balsam, who is now married to John Slattery, has so far been the only women to have married George Clooney. They were married from 1989 to 1993, and George is now dating Elisabetta Canalis.

Talia Balsam, who played Mona Sterling, was married to real life husband John Slattery, who played Roger Sterling, on the hit show Mad Men.

Dayanara Torres

Dayanara Torres Delgado is a Puerto Rican actress, singer, model, and former Miss Universe. She was also the first wife of Marc Anthony. The couple were married from 2000 to 2004.

Torres married singer Marc Anthony on May 9, 2000 in Las Vegas. They have two sons, Cristian Anthony Muñiz and Ryan Anthony Muñiz. Their marriage was rocky, and they separated in the summer of 2002. They later reconciled and renewed their vows in a spectacular ceremony held in Puerto Rico in December 2002. In 2003, a Miami waitress filed paternity charges against Anthony. Multiple DNA-tests, the last in August 2004, disproved her claims. The couple’s final separation was in October 2003 and Torres filed for divorce in January 2004.

With recent reports that a first wives club had been formed by Jennifer Aniston and Sandra Bullock – after the two went through marriage break-ups – you might think it would be a popular club. Turns out it is just gossip though.
