Elle Macpherson: Rhino

Animal rights activists are upset with Elle Macpherson.  The beautiful supermodel is under fire for using powdered rhino horn as a beauty therapy, a Chinese medicine which is banned worldwide, reports Sky News UK.

The Australian beauty revealed in an interview with Britain’s Sunday Times -- conducted via Twitter.com -- that she ingests powdered rhinoceros horn for medicinal purposes, reports the Toronto Sun.

More notes on the supermodel -- Macpherson has hit out at her Britain’s Next Top Model co-star Julien Macdonald after he claimed only skinny girls should be models.

Elle, 47, was enraged when the fashion designer claimed contestant Simone Clark, a size 10, was ‘plus-size’. She said to UK newspaper The Sun: “We’ve got beautiful girls in all different shapes and sizes on the show. As far as I’m concerned, we have a great variety going on here.”

Macpherson has taken over the role of host of the show from Lisa Snowdon. She added: “There’s too much emphasis on models’ sizes. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t have an issue with people’s bodies.”
