Controversial Beauty Queens

Beauty pageant fans across the world love the style, grace, and elegance on display during their events. They captivate our thoughts as we get a glimpse of who they are as a people, or at least who we thing they are. But when the crown is won, their real self emerges.

I think this is one of the reasons people are into these content in the first place. They want to see if the person is going to self-destruct. Maybe you are not always rooting for them to not to actually be great people after the contest, but you will watch if they fall apart. Tell the truth, won’t you. I  know I will and don’t have any shame in saying it. If you make yourself apart of the media world, then I am going to watch if it interest me. And someone falling apart, I will watch….at least for a little while.

This got me to thinking. Who are some of the most Controversial Beauty Queens we have ever seen before? And there have been some classics out there. After the article is complete, do us a favor and chime into the discussion.

#1 Vanessa Williams, Miss America 1984 – She has been a beautiful woman her entire life. And if you are old enough, I am sure you know she was the first African American, Miss America ever. And she was stunning. Today she plays roles in “Desperate Housewives” and “Ugly Betty”. After the pageant, some nude photos she had taken before the pageant had begun. She said she thought those pictures were private and destroyed, but they had not been. In fact, the owner of Penthouse magazine got the pictures and published them. She was now on the cover and a spread in the magazine as well. The controversy raged on, but you can tell she make it through.

#2 Dayana Mendoza, Miss Universe 2008 – This was another beautiful woman that got caught with her clothes off. The was only two months after she won the Miss Universe crown and she was on top of the world. The “artistic” phones as she described them were up for the entire world to see. It was a scandal. Later she would freely take off her clothes for Maxim, but who doesn’t?

#3 Carrie Prejean , Miss California 2009 – She may have been the most controversial queen of all. When she made opposing statements to gay marriage on the coronation night, it was just about too much for anyone to handle. Perez Hilton, a gay blogger with a legion of fans, went off. It was a mess. And later she was found taking topless photographs and stripped of her crown in June of 2009.
