Brittany Murphy Auction Postponed
The home Brittany Murphy shared with Simon Monjack in Hollywood won’t be auctioned off today as planned, reports TMZ.
The delay will be for two weeks. Brittany’s mom Sharon asked for the extra time so she could attempt to sell the home, according to the report.
The 8000 sq ft home sits on 1.29 acres and has a troubled past. It was there that Murphy, 32, died on December 20, 2009.
In March 2010, her mother put the home up for sale with an asking price of $7.25 million but it was later pulled off the market.
British screenwriter Monjack was found dead there two months later.
The coroner ruled the 40-year-old’s death was due to acute pneumonia and severe anaemia, which were also factors in his wife’s death.
According to legal documents filed earlier this month, $4.03 million is still owed on the home.
