Dell-Acer

(Dell-Acer merger talks are arising.)

Dell is in trouble. Dell’s net income has shrunk by over 50%, with a 15% fall in revenue. Dell has now fallen behind Acer.

Adding damage, Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo of the elite Cuomo family (Andrew is the son of former New York Governor Mario Cuomo, brother to ABC News Journalist Chris Cuomo, and husband of Kerry Kennedy, RFK’s daughter) has taken up an antitrust lawsuit versus Intel, regarding their relationship with Dell. The lawsuit revealed communication between Intel and Dell that showed how Dell relied on Intel subsidies (rebates) to remain profitable. The emperor has no clothes at Dell, leaving investors and analysts scrambling for a solution. The Dell-Acer merger idea has been gaining steam among many.

Due to this recent third quarter report, the Dell-Acer merger idea has been gaining momentum. Earlier in the year, Sanford C. Bernstein & Co analyst Toni Sacconaghi said, “Among the 10 top PC vendors, we believe that a Dell/Acer combination makes the most sense.”
