Reports are coming in saying that 49 million Americans go hungry each year.

The federal report says that about one in 4 children is regularly at risk of going hungry, and nearly 50 million Americans in all often struggle to have enough to eat. These numbers mean that over 15% of Americans are not fully able to get proper nutrition, and may often straight-up go hungry.

According to the Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vilsack, “these numbers are a wake-up call . . . for us to get very serious about food security and hunger, about nutrition and food safety in this country.”

This should be a huge wakeup call for Americans to take action to stop this tragedy.
