Lil Wayne gave an interview to Katie Couric earlier in the year, a few days ahead of the Grammys. It was already known by then that Lil Wayne was the most nominated musician for the awards ceremony. At the Grammys, Lil Wayne was nominated for eight awards and won a total of four Grammy awards. The interview with Katie Couric was extensive, covering Katrina and his New Orleans background, his prominence in the industry, his character, his youth, and his path to stardom. Lil Wayne even compares what he does to what Katie Couric does: journalism, saying “I have to cover all the areas”.
