Fla. Coach Meyer: Fine

Fla. Coach Urban Meyer received a hefty fine for speakin out to reporters about what was his opinion of a horrible call by the referees.

Meyer had to pay a $30,000 fine for speaking out against the refs to the media. It is an SEC rule the Meyer realized he shouldn’t have broke but caught swept up in his passion for the game. The rules states that you can’t criticize the refs in front of the media.

The essential bad call he referred to is where Tim Tebow received a hit from Georgia defensive player Nick Williams after the play was nearly over. It should have been a roughing the passer call, but the refs evidently missed it.

He has decided to send tapes to the NCAA to review the missed call.
