Loneliness: Contagious?
(DJ Tomcraft -- Loneliness music video)
In what could be remarked to be just another “of course” study proving something that most people would deem common sense, scientists have now dubbed loneliness “contagious”. In a 10-year study of 5,100 people, scientists believe they have proven a relationship between lonely people increasing the loneliness of others around them: spreading loneliness like the flu. The scientists tried to explain it in an understandable way, saying that for every additional day of loneliness a person has in a week, their friends will experience an extra day of loneliness in a month. The average person, according to the study has 48 days of loneliness in a year, but when a lonely friend is added, experiences 17 more days of loneliness.
