Rep. Ed Mezvinsky & Rep. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinksy
Rep. Ed Mezvinsky and Rep. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinksy are former politicians about to merge into the political dynasty of the Clintons through their son Marc Mezvinsky’s marriage. Chelsea Clinton was engaged to investment banker Marc Mezvinsky recently, prior to Thanksgiving according to a Clinton spokesperson. Both parents of Marc Mezvinsky had served in Congress. Rep. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky had served in the U.S. House of Representatives for Pennsylvania’s 13th district, while her husband Rep. Ed Mezvinsky had served as U.S. Congressman for Iowa’s 1st district. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky had been the deciding vote on a controversial 1993 budget by then President Clinton, the future father in law to her son. Both Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinksy and Ed Mezvisnky had served in the United Nations. Marjorie was the Director of the United States delegation to the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in 1995, while her husband had served on the United Nations Commission on Human Rights. Ed Mezvinsky was convicted for fraud and served an 80 month sentence. While both of their political aspirations seem over, their son is well positioned to join the prestigious Clinton political dynasty. The young investment banker marrying Chelsea, Marc Mezvinsky, has yet to follow in the footsteps of either parent to join the political world, but certainly will have the ability to do so.
