Predicting PTSD
The American military is working on predicting PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) in their soldiers before they get back from war.
The military hasn’t quite figured out just yet how to isolate the variables of what seems to cause PTSD in certain soldiers.
“Right now, we can’t determine with certainty who will and who won’t develop PTSD,” said Paula Schnurr, deputy executive director of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ National Center for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. “Perhaps with better measures, we can get closer.”
It will be interesting to see if they can actually pre-determine this detrimental psychological state that so many soldiers suffer from.
