Kenneth Darby Big Hit

Man I had to get this out there. This picture/video is crazy! St. Louis Rams running back Kenneth Darby takes a big hit from the referee. Apparently it was in self defense, but it’s wacky because it looks like Darby is getting punched in the face. I wonder if the ref will get fined, or if the league commissioner really believes the ref was protecting himself.

Yeah, what better way to protect yourself than to knock out the guy coming for ya!

Here is the YouTube video:

Vontae Davis Enters Draft

Illinois football star cornerback Vontae Davis enters the 2009 NFL Draft this year. It is no surprise that the talented kid will go pro instead of returning for his senior year. He doesn’t have much to prove and his team really doesn’t have an actual chance at the National Championship. It is likely that Davis will be picked up late in the first round by a team such as the New England Patriots.

Fan Tackles Seau

One crazy inebriated fan tackles Junior Seau while shouting “I love you man”. It’s like something out of a Bud Light commercial, but real. Seau said “that has to rank as one of the most memorable moments in my 19-year career,” he also said “yeah it was “scary”. I think it’s scary that a NFL player can be taken down so easily. I’ll get you the YouTube video if someone uploads it.

The fan was then pelted with snowballs from fans while being escorted out of the building by security. It was probably one of the major highlights of the blowout 47-7 game where the Patriots stomped the Cardinals.

Rob Parker Suspended

Rob Parker has been suspended from the Detroit News, and with good reason. He went way over the line asking Detroit Lions coach about whether he not firing the defensive coordinator because it’s his son in law. Then he went one further by saying “On a light note, seriously, do you wish your daughter had married a better defensive coordinator?” Hats off to Rod Marinelli for keeping his cool, most coaches/people would have chewed him out bad! Try asking something like that to Mike Ditka! Some journalist act like they are Jerry Springer, not reporters.

DeAndre Brown Broken Leg

In the New Orleans Bowl, the Southern Miss receiver, DeAndre Brown goes down with a broken leg. It looks to be a tibia break in his leg. Southern Miss was playing against Troy and ended up defeating them in overtime. It happened in the first quarter of the ESPN broadcast game.

Meg Griffin-DJ?

Everyone knows about Family Guy, and it is a one of the most popular and most talked about shows. Well I did not know that apparently Meg Griffin is a DJ on Sirius satellite radio. Obvioulsy not the cartoon, it seems Seth McFarlane the creator of Family Guy has only met Meg once or twice, so he didn’t name the cartoon character after her. It would be tough having that name thanks to McFarlane! Stewie (the baby) and Brian (the dog) get more respect on that show than Meg.

Michael Jackson Needs Lung Transplant

Evidently Michael Jackson is in dire need of a lung transplant. His health is suffering and he has a rare lung condition that could kill him. It seems that Jackson suffers from Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, a potentially fatal genetic illness, as well as emphysema and gastrointestinal bleeding. Also, Jackson can barely speak and is 95 percent blind in his left eye. If the surgeons don’t get the internal bleeding down, Jackson could die very quickly. He may even be too weak to go through with the transplant surgery. This news came from Ian Halperin who is writing Michale Jackson’s biography.

Dallas Cowboys Playoff Scenarios

There is not multiple scenarios for the Dallas Cowboy’s playoff chances, there is just one, WIN! If the Cowboys can’t pull it together and win next Sunday in Philadelphia then they will be out of the playoff picture. With both teams striving to make the playoffs, this will be a hard knocks game where only one will leave the place standing tall.

The Cowboys have picked up every ‘down and out’ player that Jerry Jones could find, it seemed he put all his eggs in one basket in the hopes of winning at least one Superbowl this decade. Everyone has been saying this year, “you never know with the Cowboys” including myself. One day they’ll look like future champs, the next they look like the ‘dysfunctional team of the year’. We shall see which one shows up on Sunday.

Chicago Bears Playoff Scenarios

Here is the playoff scenario for the Chicago Bears. Since the Bears would end up losing all tie breakers to the Minnesota Vikings, they need to win their final two games and the Vikings have to lose both of theirs. The Bears play Greenbay on Monday night and the Houston Texans in the final week. Trent Dilfer predicted that they could accomplish this amazing feat.
