Giants Prank Abby Manning

“When someone plays a prank on me, I take it well” Eli Manning has said. The same may not be true for the New York Giant’s wife. The Giant’s offensive line like to do lots of pranks and have pulled some on Eli and Others. Such as locking the quarterback inside the meeting room with sofas and string. Well this time they pulled a prank on Eli’s wife Abby Manning. It was family day out at the Giant’s facility, a day where Giant’s players bring their wife and kids for the day. Well the offensive line members got a hold of Eli’s phone (pretending to be Eli) and texted Abby, basically saying that it would really mean a lot if she came today. When Abbby Manning got there she was really upset when she found out it was a prank, because she had lot’s of stuff to do that day. Some people can’t take a joke.

Quantum of Solace Falls Short

Daniel Craig return as James Bond in the next in the series after Casino Royale. Quantum of Solace take off where we left off in the Royale film. Bond is still holding the anger and resentment of losing his girl in his last undertakings. He decides to go after the men in question of killing his woman, to find some answers and get some revenge.

The film starts off with an action sequence right off the bat, with a high speed chase sequence. But before the sequence they don’t open with the classic Bond opening. The part where bond walks out and shoots someone spying on him. They leave that till the end.

In fact, the film leaves out many of the expected ‘Bond series’ trademarks ingredients. When Bond is drinking, he doesn’t know what’s in his drink, that’s a first. It’s part vodka part this, part something else. Not the original dry Vodka Martini shaken not stirred. That doesn’t quite bother one as much as the fact that Q the inventor is not involved either. Without Q, most of the cool gadgets and extra laughs are left out. Bond’s car was fast, and nothing else. I could see the Transporter series if that’s all I wanted to see was fast cars and some fighting. Normally James Bond is with a lot of women for playful fun in the series. Not so in this film, Craig’s character only sleeps with a woman to get out of a bad situation.

On top of all this, there is not much humor to the film. The somewhat funny line is when M says to Bond, “You look like hell.” Not many people in the theatre laughed at that one. The traditional bond films where always more campy with plenty of one liners. Films like Tomorrow Never Dies and Goldeneye just seem to be more enjoyable films. They help you escape from reality, where Quantum of Solace brings you back to reality and half the film you feel depressed that Bond’s life is so hard. Usually one goes to the movies to escape from reality, or have a fun adventure, not a tormented adventure. Some people may say ‘well its just gritty and raw’ but does that make it a better Bond than the old films. It was just too preachy, if you want to be preached to, you go to your preacher. This movie fell short of my expectations for a fun adventure, plus there wasn’t much spying, Bond was basically a hit man. I’ve already seen that Bond film, it’s called “License to Kill.”

NFL Free Kick Field Goal?

After the last debacle over the NFL overtime rules, now there is another hidden rule most haven’t seen in a while. An ‘NFL free kick field goal’ which the Arizona Cardinals used against the New York Giants in Sundays football game. How the rule works is this: If you fair catch a punt, you are allowed a field goal attempt from the line of scrimmage with no opposition on defense. As in there is no chance they will block or rush the kicker. The Cardinals used this rule with time expiring in the second, however Neil Racker 68 yard attempt failed.

Kevin Kolb New Starter?

There could be some serious QB controversy in Philadelphia in the next few weeks. Kevin Kolb came in for franchise quarterback Donovan McNabb in the second half of the game against the Ravens today. McNabb was playing horrible! Throwing for 59 yards and two interceptions. When Andy Reid was asked about who will be the new quarterback, “Donovan is the quarterback, he just has to keep firing.” This is a big shocker as McNabb has never been substituted unless he was injured or they were creaming the other team. Will see how Kevin Kolb preforms well enough to win over the coaches.

Oklahoma City Thunder fire P.J. Carlesimo

Today the Oklahoma City Thunder fired P.J. Carlesimo. The Thunder had gone a league worst 1-12, apparently this is not the way the Oklahoma team owner wanted to start his transition to a new city. The executive Vice President said “This was a very difficult decision to make.” With the team in Seattle Carlesimo went 21-74 in 95 games fof the basketball club. The Seattle Sonics only had 20 wins last year and were one of the worst teams. The Oklahoma City Thunder have yet to name a replacement head coach.

Michael Jordan vs. CEO John Rogers Video

Okay so first off, its not every day you get to see Michael Jordan in a one on one game with average joes. Secondly, there is a never a time when I’ve seen him lose a one on one game! Well today I did. Let’s give Jordan some credit, he is getting older. But he will always be the best basketball player of all time. But when he played CEO John Rodgers he lost, albeit by a close score. The video is a little grainy/not high quality, but you can pretty much tell what happens. I like how Damon Wayans calls him out at the end of the video, “how do you feel about getting beat at your own camp?”.

My Top Ten Favorite Baseball Teams

Here is a list of my favorite baseball teams that I have liked throughout the years.

10. Chicago White Sox: This team has always been intriguing. With the history of throwing the 1918 game to their current times of recently winning the World Series. Ozzie Guillen is always funny because he’s constantly finding things to say to offend or get himself in trouble.

9. Florida Marlins: The team that made the world series with Pudge Rodriguez and Dontrelle Willis was really great to watch. Their team had never won it before, and you could tell they played with a lot of heart and determination.

8. Baltimore Orioles: Sure they may lose a lot, but their kinda like that bloodhound that you think is a really good dog, even though it doesn’t do much, half of the time. I was always a big fan of Cal Ripken Jr. Players like that only come around every dozen years or so, and there sure seems to be less of them recently.

7. Chicago Cubs: I always thought they were a classy organization and very symbolic of what baseball is supposed to be. They may not have won a world series in a century, but their still a great team, and fun to watch. Cubs Win! Cubs Win!

6. Toronto Blue Jays: They were very good back in the 90’s when they had Joe Carter and John Olerud. Very powerful team with a lot of sluggers and clutch batters. Great in fielding and out fielding. What more could you ask for?

5. Los Angeles Dodgers: Another storied team with a lot of classic pitchers like Sandy Koufax among others. I was pulling for them this year to make the World Series, but no such luck. They have Joe Torre, who I didn’t like as a Yankees manager, but is good at what he does, none the less. Now that they have Manny Ramirez, they should be fun to watch. As long as they don’t trade him.

4. Atlanta Braves: They have some of the best pitchers in the history of the game. Maddux, Smoltz, Glavine. Is hard to believe they were all on the same team at one point. Plus the “Tomahawk Chop” is pretty fun to do, even if it’s not “pc”.

3. Arizona Diamond Backs: Definitely have some good memories watching this team when they went to the World Series in . I can remember when the ball plopped over the second baseman to spark the game winning run in 2001. I was jumping on the couch screaming, I couldn’t believe they had defeated the reigning champs, the Yankees.

2. Minnesota Twins: My favorite was the 1991 team that went to the World Series against the Braves. I was little and had grown up in Minnesota so this was a huge thing for the team to get there. They had Kirby Puckett, Kent Hrbeck(my favorite), Chuck Knoblock, Chili Davis, Scott Erickson, Rick Aguilera, among others. I used to stay up late when one of the games went to extra innings till the late hours supporting my team.

1. Boston Red Sox: I’m not a band wagon fan because I simply like teams that can beat the Yankees. They sure did it big when they came back in the 2004 ALCS. They were down 3 games to 0 and came back, which no team in history had done. Amazing! That was a fun series to watch. With power hitters like Tito Ortiz and Manny Ramirez, and Jason Varitek. They also had clutch batters like Johnny Damon. They are still an outstanding team as they have won the World Series twice now, since breaking the “Curse of the Bambino”.

Jamal Crawford Traded for Al Harrington

This trade just came to completion as Jamal Crawford of the Knicks was traded for Al Harrington of the Golden State Warriors. Al Harrington is till recovering from a bad back injury and it will be a while befor the knicks can utilizes his skills. This seems to be a better traded for the warriors as they get a young very talented guard in Jamal Crawford. The New York Knicks may have done this trade so quickly, to free up cap room and aren’t concerned about whether they got the better player. It was expected that the Knicks were going to trade away Stephon Marbury but this has yet to occur.
