Raiders Fire Coach Kiffin

Everyone thought that Al Davis would have fired Coach Kiffin last week. The media has been all over the “will he or won’t he?”. Now he finally has and my question is “who replaces him?”. Well they are putting in their Offensive Line Coach Tom Cable. I can’t remember the last time I saw an Offensive Line Coach move up to Head Coach. Maybe Al Davis knows something I don’t. But odds are he’s just saying “next!”. He’ll give this guy a shot for a season and then fire him when things stay the same. The Raiders are struggling to keep a runningback in the game and dealing with Jamarcus Russell’s inexperience. I can’t name one good wide receiver on that team. Maybe they should try to get Randy Moss back. We all know his stats could use a boost.

Twins vs White Sox

In this show down in the American League both teams have to win in order to get to the playoffs. Tonight should be a intense display of heart by these rivals. The White Sox beat the Detroit tigers yesterday by hitting a grandslam in the sixth inning to pretty much seal the deal. Now can they hold up under the real pressure of another team that wants to win just as bad?

Call of Duty: World at War

This is the fifth installment in the Call of Duty Series. It is on all platforms essentially including PC. This game is set in World War II in the Pacific and Russia-German conflicts. The graphics are even better than the last one in the saga. It keeps all the great gameplay and now you can even play with four of your friends split screen online vs other players on console. They have also kept the perks and rank features from COD 4 so that will be interesting to see what that looks like in a WW II setting. There is possibly even going to be vehicles in multiplayer mode-lookout BF2! What could make this game anybetter; virtual reality i suppose. I can’t wait to beta test it in the upcoming month or so! The final version will be release November 11th.

Body of Lies

This movie I have to go see. It looks like it’s full of surprises and twists around every turn. It is done by Ridley Scott who is my favorite director. It also has Russel Crowe who is phenomenal and DiCaprio who is not my favorite actor but is getting better at it. The film encompasses all the CIA operations in the middle east and how the side operations can blow away the main operations. Looks to be an awesome film.

Age of Conan

This movie to video game adaptation is done very well. It is a mmorpg (massively multiplayer online role playing game) that has a unique combat system where you attack directionally instead of click and lock on like most mmos. You perform combo by hitting the directional attack buttons in sequence. This can lead to cool fatalities and more damage.

It is set in the Robert E. Howard universe which has its own races and cultures besides that of Conan’s Cimmeria. You can choose to start in Cimmeria; a barbaric cold world. Stygia; an Egyptian like world with Pyramids and snake worshipers. There is also Aquilonia which is like an advanced society like the Romans or Byzantium.

There are many guilds in the game some with over 300 people others with 50-60 people. They are going to add Guild Alliances and Alliance Battle Keeps. There are plenty of servers to choose from as well. They have PvE (player vs environment) or PVP servers or culture PvP where you fight different race classes.

The leveling system goes as such; from 1-20 you play in Tortage a pirate island so you can learn the game and system. Then from 20-80 you essentially play in the full world and can engage in PvP anywhere outside of cities. There are some solo instances(zones) where you can only fight by yourself against monsters. There are also raid instances where you need large groups to defeat epic monsters. Sometime you need from 6-12 players depending on the instance. These zones will yield better loot such as swords or armor with better stats.

The game’s initial release had so much hype that it had trouble living up to it in the first few months. Now, they have PVP (player versus player) experience and have fixed a lot of the errors and bugs that occurred in the early months. They have ironed out almost all of the bug and game play problems. They have smoothed over some of the class differences as well. There may still be a gap between some classes, but each one is needed to fill out a good team.

You can siege other player made Battle Keeps or fight in other PVP skirmishes and mini games. There are catupults and War Mammouths that can take down the enemies walls. You can defend you keep with Archers and guards from inside and out. The graphics are very good so make sure you have the latest requirements before buying the game. I give it a 9/10.

Most Popular Sports Team in the World

What would you guess? If your outside of the U.S. you might get it right, if not good luck. My guess would have been the Lakers, Cowboys, or maybe Chicago Bulls fans leftover from the M.J. era.

But those are all way off. It is actually Manchester United. I knew they were popular but I thought mostly in England and maybe some of Europe. The United States are struggling keeping soccer popular the whole “David Beckham thing” barely keeps it on life support. Soccer is the most popular sport worldwide, however the U.S. likes a different kind of football.

Eagle Eye will see success

To those of you new to my site. Fear not, I don’t give away movie endings and never will. I personally hate that, and won’t watch a movie on TV if it’s not at the beginning. Anyways, this movie is a thrill ride with great acting by Shia LaBeouf and his female counterpart Michelle Monaghan, as well as Billy Bob Thorton and Michael Chiklis. I am not even a fan of Billy Bob but he delivers a superb performance. There is literally never a slow moment or long backstoring in the whole film. The plot never ceases to amaze. I usually figure out the movie about halfway or sooner. I kept thinking “what is going on?” until roughly ten or twenty minutes before the end. The special effects and chase scenes are definetley worth paying a premium at the best theaters.

Cowboys blow it at home

The previously undefeated cowboys somehow managed to lose to the underdog Redskins. They were favored in the vegas odds, media, and polls. I struggle to believe they were held to 44 yards rushing the WHOLE GAME. How come I haven’t heard of this great Redskins defense this year? The boys needed to changed it up in the backfield and use Felix Jones more. I believe he is averaging 8 yards a carry, and they didn’t hand it to him once. Running Barber up the middle only gets you so far. A late effort and push got the Cowboys in the endzone. However, It was not enough as they failed on the onside kick as the ball popped out of Sam Heard’s hands. 26-24 Skins win, whether its two or twenty, a loss erases that 3-0 for Dallas to 3-1. On top of that it puts Dallas second in the division behind the Giants who are 3-0 and had a bye.
